Ugh. My bad on the slow response - I haven't really been in the mood to write a lot lately. Um, games. I've actually been playing quite a bit:
One group of friends has created a guild in Neo Steam. I've got a Tinkerer and a Galvanist (both of the major crafting classes) on Rogwel side.
Another group of friends has been using MAME++ to play Street Fighter Alpha 3, SF3ThirdStrike, KOF 2002-2003, and other fighting games I'm not as interested in online. I'm actually getting better at fighting games than I've ever been, simply because I have a consistent group to play with who urge me on to better heights. (My characters, btw: Karin/R.Mika, Elena, some combo of Angel/Mary/Yuri/Athena, and King/Malin/Yuri with some Athena and Mary thrown in.)
I also got ahold of The Sims 3. After a self-Sim to see what the game played like, I created an 8-Sim household of young adults that was ranked one below max on the difficulty scale, and still managed to get everyone's Lifetime Wishes completed or nearly completed within 6 weeks. (I do suck at making friends, though.) I've decided to wait until there's at least one or two expansion packs before dipping back into the pool.
A friend of mine bought me a copy of Killing Floor. After playing it and finding out how truly awesome it is, and seeing what they're doing with L4D/L4D2, I've joined the L4D2 Boycott Group on Steam.
And finally I got ahold of a bunch of new games for my DS. Well, sort of new. Rocket Slime Adventures is wonderfully funny, entertaining, and goes from piss-easy to 'wow my face' at the end of the game. Rune Factory 2 is more Harvest Moon But Not, but I'm ok with that. Knights In The Nightmare looks... good.. but.. I really can't play it. I think I'd need to see someone else play it and really work with it for a while to 'get' the game, and I'm not interested right now. Henry Hatsworth is God King Amazing - seriously, EA, let the Tiburon boys out from under that NFL/Madden rock every so often, they make stellar games. Puzzle Quest Galactrix is the same cheating piece of s*** AI from Puzzle Quest, but I seem to still be playing it. Felix Meets Felicity was an awesome throwback to 16-bit platforming, and Dokapon Journey just pisses me off in single-player. River King makes me think about playing one of the old bass fishing games on the SNES without as much fun, and Professor Layton and the Curious Village is as much fun as I remember from the first time when I picked it up and got through three or four chapters. Hopefully I'll finish it this time.
Oh, yeah, and I beat Contra 4 twice the day I picked it up. Both on 'Bitch, Get A Man's Difficulty Level' mode, but afterwards, oh, my aching bacon. My hand HURT after the second playthrough.
Anyways. Back to playing Rune Factory 2 and monitoring the Iranian Twitter feeds. Where Is Their Vote, and good gaming to everyone.
